A Different Kind of Teaching

Simply Baseball is owned and operated by former MLB player and hitting coach Angel Echevarria. His mission is to teach children proper baseball technique in an enjoyable way, while imparting valuable life lessons in the process: respect for coaches and peers, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the confidence to pursue their goals.

“It’s about more than just baseball,” says Angel. “That’s the vehicle, but our goal is to instill a sense
of optimism in children and inspire them to develop positive self-worth.”

It’s this commitment to nurturing the spirit of its students that sets Simply Baseball apart. Angel focuses on building a solid foundation: he prioritizes his teaching based on each child’s individual experience level and encourages students to apply their learned skills at all times, both on and off the field.
Meet the Instructor
Angel got his start in baseball at an early age, having grown up in Bridgeport playing ball with his siblings and cousins in Seaside Park. In eighth grade, he set his sights on becoming an MLB player, and worked diligently over the next few years to achieve that goal.

His dedication paid off when he was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 1992. From there, he went on to play for the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs, and worked for two years as the Brewers' hitting coach before founding Simply Baseball in 2013.

Today, he is thrilled to be doing what he loves: sharing his knowledge, experience and passion for the game with the next generation of baseball players.
